We knew God as a being of power and mystery living high above us…but then Christ was born in humility here upon the earth and God gave us Christ's eternal presence.

We did not know God as a personal friend…but then Christ was born and He gave us His friendship.

We did not have direction…but then Christ was born and He gave us guidance.

We were like sheep without a shepherd…but then Christ was born and then we had Christ's heart as the Great Shepherd.

We were sick…but then Christ was born and He gave us healing.

We were blind…but then Christ was born and He gave us our sight.

We were without love…but then Christ was born and He gave us love for eternity.

We were caught up in our sins…but Christ was born and He gave us the way to salvation by Christ's death on the cross.

We had no hope…but then Christ was born and He gave us the hope of eternal life.

We were powerless…but then Christ was born and He gave us His power.

We were ignorant…but then Christ was born and He gave us His wisdom.

We were lost…but then Christ was born and He gave us the way home.
