A Prayer For A Time When A Friend Or Loved One Is Taken Unexpectedly

Most Precious Lord Jesus…
Gentle And Wonderful God…
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit…
I am so caught up in grief.
I am so caught up in shock.
I cannot believe it.
I am doubled over in grief and shock and pain from this loss.
My heart is torn out.
My loss is like a nightmare and I cannot wake up.
Help me Lord.
Please help me get through this.
What do I do now?
Where do I go?
What am I supposed to think and to feel?
Will I ever feel anything other than this hellish feeling of anguish and torment from my grief?
In this hour of my nightmare, please touch my heart.
In this hour of my shock, be with me, guide me, and help me through every minute.
Guide my heart as I try to understand.
Guide my mind as I try to cope and comprehend.
Guide my soul as I try to bring myself to a place of resolution.
Replace my lost hope with new vision.
Replace my broken heart with a heart mended by your love.
Replace my broken dreams with new dreams you have put within me.
Help me Lord. I need you now.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen
