A Prayer About Being At Peace And Joyful In Hope
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I praise your name because I still have the fire.
I still have the fire in me, the zeal in me, and the fervor in me, to be
your child and be your servant.
I know some people who do not have the fire.
What a tragedy for them.
What a tragedy for the world to have a child or servant who does not have
the fire, fervor, and zeal to serve you.
You tell me to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in
prayer.
Of course, it is easier to read these words than it is to do them.
When I start to lose hope or I start to lose the joy of being on the road
to heaven, please remind me.
When my afflictions hammer me hour after hour, remind me the night is
almost over and the day is almost here.
When I think I am too tired or too exhausted to pray, keep me in your
presence just a little while longer when we talk.
Put in me a renewed passion to share all I am with your people who are in
need.
Remind me people need me to show them your love and grace just like I need
others to show me your love and grace.
When the opportunity comes, walk with me as I show others hospitality.
Help me discern what is good and what is evil.
Help me see the wiles of the great deceiver and determine what is good and
what is evil.
When people speak about you in an evil way, make sure I speak about you as
the love of the universe.
Keep me righteous night and day as I rest in your spirit.
Keep me at peace as I think about you.
Keep me in joy every moment as I remember your word and I look out upon
the world and see the miracles you do.
Whatever I do, wherever I am, whoever I am with, let me be righteous,
peaceful, and joyful so you and others will be pleased.
May all I do be filled with all joy and peace as I trust in you.
May my soul be a blessing to you.
May my soul overflow with hope in you by the power of your Holy Spirit.
May my life be full of goodness and complete in the knowledge your love
me.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
Amen
