O, Lord Jesus, Precious One, Precious All In All…
Our spiritual world was steeped in darkness.
We knew you only as someone far off…but then you were born and you gave us your nearness.
We knew you as a being of power and mystery living high above us…but then you were born in humility here upon the earth and you gave us your eternal presence.
We did not know you as a personal friend…but then you were born and you gave us friendship.
We did not have direction…but then you were born and you gave us guidance.
We were like sheep without a shepherd…but then you were born and you gave us your heart as the Great Shepherd.
We were sick…but then you were born and you gave us healing.
We were blind…but then you were born and you gave us our sight.
We were without love…but then you born and you gave us love for eternity.
We were caught up in our sins…but you were born and you gave us the way to salvation by your death on the cross.
We had no hope…but then you were born and you gave us the hope of eternal life.
We were powerless…but then you were born and you gave us your power.
We were ignorant…but then you were born and you gave us your wisdom.
We were lost…but then you were born and you gave us the way home.
