A Christmas Prayer About Remembering The Past And Envisioning The Future

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit, Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I tend to think more about my Christmases of the past than I do about the Christmas in my present.
Maybe it is my age.
Maybe it is the age in which I live.
When I think about Christmases of the past they seem to take on a richer glow even when some of the Christmases of my past were laden with tragedy, heartache, and loneliness.
In your love, this Christmas, keep me focused on your love in my life at the present moment.
As I think about the Christmases of my past, show me the love you have for me now and the love you have for me in the future.
Let the hopes and dreams of Christmases past become the reality of my present.
Let the visions of Christmases past be my reality today, tomorrow, and all the days thereafter.
Let the sad times of my Christmases past remind me to give thanks for the healing you have brought to me this year.
Let the dark times of my Christmases past now be illuminated with the light of your love.
Let the hopes of my Christmases past be renewed in my heart this hour.
Let the dreams of my Christmases past be changed and reformed into my dreams to do your will this day.
Let the bad times of my Christmases past be erased and replaced with the joy of your living within me.
Let the trauma of my Christmases past be erased in your love and grace.
Let the bliss of my Christmases past be renewed and reawakened this very hour.
May the glory of the goodness of my Christmases past be amplified in your love today.
In the name of the Precious Savior, Wonderful Lord God, and the in-filling Holy Spirit upon whom we can rely.
Amen
