A Prayer About Disappointment With Others And
Trusting God
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
There are times when my heart overflows with gratitude and thanksgiving
for all the things you have done for me.
No matter what disappointments come into my life today or tomorrow, I know
I have you with me, encouraging me, as a constant and infinite friend.
As we walk your path together, help me now to trust others more, even when
I might have reason not to trust them.
Let me not be blind to what others can do in their sin, but let me trust
them to be more of the kind of person you want them to be.
In my relationships, help me to trust others and let them know I trust
them.
Help me bolster my confidence in myself as your child so I will then be
able to trust others more fully.
Help me be strong in your love and grace so I will not be depending upon
others to do for me what I can do for myself.
When I am disappointed in others, let me not be downhearted or sad, but
let me be more confident in myself because I have given all I have over to
you.
When I want and need something from you, let me put those wants and needs
aside and rest only in your love.
For your love is enough for me.
Your love upholds me in every trial.
Your love soothes me in the pain of every disappointment.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely. Amen |
