A Prayer About Doing For Others

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
In my sinful desires, I want to be praised and I want others to speak well of me.
Yet I know it is far better and it is godly for me to live and work as an unseen servant for you.
Put in my heart the desire to never want others to praise me or speak well of me when I do your work.
As I walk your path, turn my heart and turn my ear toward your sweet voice.
As I walk your path, show me how to love my enemies.
As I walk your path, show me how to do good to those who hate me.
As I walk your path, show me how to bless those who curse me.
As I walk your path, show me how to pray more earnestly for those who mistreat me.
As I walk your path, show me how to do to others as I would have them do to me.
As I walk your path, show me how love those who do not love me.
As I walk your path, show me how to love those who others despise.
As I walk your path, show me how to do good for those who do evil to me.
As I walk your path, show me how to lend to others without expecting repayment.
As I walk your path, show me how to love my enemies.
As I walk your path, show me how to do good to my enemies.
As I walk your path, show me how to be merciful just as you are merciful.
Then, in your love and in your grace, I know I will receive a reward, a great and heavenly reward.
In your love and in your grace, I know I will be counted as one of the sons or daughters of the Most High.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
