A Prayer For A Time When We Face Our Own Death

Precious Jesus, Wonderful Father, Uplifting Holy Spirit. It is about time for me to see you face to face. Yes, Lord, I have some fear for I have not walked this path before. I am not afraid of seeing you, I am afraid of this process that is taking me to my final hour. Hold my hand now Lord. I know you have prepared a great welcome for me. I am sad to leave behind those I love but I know you have them in the palm of your hand. Please take care of them and help ease their pain. I give you my life as I have before. I give you all he mistakes I made, the opportunities I missed, the hours spent in selfishness, the failures so numerous. I give you all these for I know that you want to erase them. Thank you Lord for forgiving me. Thank you for being such a friend during this journey. I could not have done it without you. In just a little while I will see you as I have not seen you before. Thank you for giving me a life here. It was not always good. It was not always grand, nor fun, nor glorious, but it was a treasure. I have such sweet memories that remain in my heart…the memories that somehow erase the pain. Thank you for the people you gave me on this walk. I look forward to seeing so many of them again in Heaven. While I am waiting for the angel to come and take me up, give me a giggle, a laugh, a smile, for I do so wish to leave looking up.
