A Prayer About Fending Off An Attack By The Darkness

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit, Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I live in a violent and mean-spirited world.
Yet the greatest violence in my life does not come from war or from the violence of the street.
The greatest violence and the greatest meanness in my life come at me from my great adversary and deceiver, Satan.
It is this great adversary and deceiver who brings my sickness, my temptation, my getting old, my separation from you, and my times of falling down because of my many weaknesses.
In my faith and in your love, I stand on your promise there will come a time when my great adversary is finally and totally defeated upon the earth.
Until that great battle is waged, may you enable me to wage a great battle of my own every hour.
Remind me every hour I can be a winner by attacking Satan.
Remind me every hour I can attack Satan by spending time in prayer, first praying for others, then praying I be enabled to do the your will and not our own.
Remind me every hour I can fend off Satan's attacks by being willing to walk your path rather than my own.
Help me fend off Satan's attack by refusing to knuckle under to temptation.
Help me fend off Satan's attack by loving others more than I love myself.
Help me fend off Satan's attack by standing firm and not relenting in living a holy and devout life for you.
Help me fend off Satan's attack so there will come a day of rejoicing in victory.
On that great day of rejoicing, my I be able to feel you wrap your arms around me in love while you welcome me into my new home in Heaven.
To you belongs all praise, honor, and glory.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
