A Prayer For Help To Accept Everything As Temporary

Precious Lord Jesus, wonderful God, empowering Holy Spirit,
Thank you precious Lord, for the joy of this moment.
Thank you for showing me how much love you have for me.
Thank you for bringing peace and joy into my life.
As I build my life each day, I see how temporary all the things of earth can be.
I see the ancient ruins of civilizations from long ago with wonder and awe, yet I see these people are no more.
I see the great works of human life, yet I see the days of my life are numbered.
I see the great work of writers, poets, artists, and dreamers who made dreams come true, yet I see their lives are often filled with pain, suffering, bitterness, rancor, and unrighteousness.
What I ask today is that you give me a way to build for you.
If you will it, help me build a spiritual life that contains spiritual materials that will last into eternity.
I understand that all earthly things must end.
I understand that all the temples of the world will crumble.
In my life and soul, help me accept the earthly end of my earthly works, and accept the destruction of my pride.
As the great temples built in days of old have crumbled, let the temples of my human desires also crumble.
I seek your face for these things.
In my heart, I know you will help me rebuild all the parts of my life.
I humbly seek these spiritual things in your name and according to your will.
I seek your face for I know in my heart you stand ready to help me build a new temple within me…a temple that will not perish, will not decay, will not fall down, a temple that will last forever.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
