A Prayer For Freedom From The Attraction Of
Material Things
O Precious Savior, Wonderful Lord, In-filling Holy Spirit…
Let there always be truth coming from my heart to you, O Lord.
Let there never be a time when I cannot share all that is in my heart and
soul.
Whatever material possessions I have, let me not treasure them.
Whatever money I have, let me not worship it or let it possess me.
When I am so caught up in the material things of this world, touch me and
show me all material things are made by you.
When material things break down and cause problems and consternation, show
me the real things of earth are truly nothing compared to you.
When finances run low and it is time to purchase material things, let me
not worry or be consumed with aggravation about where the finances will
come from because I trust in you.
Let me not worship any material thing.
Let me not worry about material things that have no life.
Let me not be enthralled with inanimate objects of any kind.
Let me worship only you, worry about only my service to you, and be
enthralled only by your love for me.
In the name of the Precious Savior, Wonderful Lord God, and the In-filling
Holy Spirit upon whom we can rely.
