A Prayer About How Money And A Spiritual Life Do Not Mix

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
Sometimes I want to be rich for I fear poverty.
Sometimes I think my life would be so much easier if I were rich.
Perhaps my physical life would be easier if I were rich, but if I lived my life without you, if I lived as if you did not exist, if I lived as if you were dead, or if I lived as if you were far away from me…
No matter how much money I possessed, no amount of money could ever assuage the hardship of spiritual poverty I would have without you.
No matter how full my bank account might be, I would be consumed with utter emptiness if I did not have you as my mentor, my friend, and my constant companion.
Please Lord, help us to not worship money, but to worship you instead.
Since money is a necessity of our life, help us to have the right attitude about poverty and wealth.
Show us the folly of wealth in money.
Show us the treasure of wealth in having you as our Savior and our Lord
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
