A Prayer About Keeping Watch Over Christ's Flock

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
May every word coming from my heart be a word of wholeness and healing to bless the members of your flock.
May every word coming from my heart be a word of wholeness and healing so people not of your flock will be gathered together in your love.
Just as you had love and compassion on the crowds who followed you day after day when you walked the earth, instill in me the same love and compassion.
Help me see others as harassed and helpless just as you saw them as harassed and helpless.
Enable me to be a humble worker in your kingdom so I may be a servant doing only your will.
If need be, enable me to lay down my life for others just as you gave your life for me and for all the other sheep of your flock.
Wherever you need me, show me how all people can be members of your flock.
Wherever you need me, give me your words of compassion so I can tell others about you love.
Enable me to proclaim to all those around me the whole truth of God.
Enable me to be a good shepherd showing love and protection for your sheep.
Enable me to be a good shepherd of your church, which you bought with your own blood.
Savage wolves prowl about and attack your flock from every direction.
Give me the power to fend off these predators as I lay down my life to save your sheep.
Give all of us the power and vision to understand we will one day see your full glory revealed upon the earth.
Give all of us the power and glory to be kind and gentle shepherds for your flock here on earth…only because we are willing, not because we must.
May your grace always be sufficient for our heart and life.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
