A Prayer About Light Against Sin

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
You did not want to go to the Cross and die for me, yet you gave up your life for me.
How much grief I bear over the lowly sinner I am.
Yes, I know you have redeemed me.
Yes, I know you came back to give me new life.
Yes, I know I am a new creature in you.
But there are times I am completely overwhelmed by your sacrifice for me.
Forgive me Lord Jesus. I have sinned.
In my world today, there is darkness all about me.
In my world today, a few people want to do right, but the rest…
Give me the strength to carry on each day.
Give me the power to fight against the dark powers attacking me and wanting me to forget about doing your will.
Although the darkness weakens me, I am strong as I kneel in contrition before you.
Although the darkness undermines me, I stand on solid ground before you.
Although I am often overcome by the grief of my sinful nature, I feel your gentle hand upon my shoulder giving me your calm assurance all is well.
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
