A Prayer Of Repentance

Most Precious Lord Jesus…
Gentle And Wonderful God…
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit…
We love you, Lord Jesus.
We have fallen down and we are bruised.
We have made grievous mistakes.
We have committed sins and wrongs.
We are sorry.
We would undo what we have done but we cannot.
We are sorry we went astray.
We are sorry for the madness we unleashed upon the world and upon each other.
Instead of love in our hearts, there is bitterness.
We are sorry.
Please forgive us.
Even when we do not deserve it, we know you will come in and touch our hearts and make us new, whole, and we will be reborn.
We seek your mercy for our sins, our transgressions, and our waywardness.
Even when we turn our back upon you, we know you will never turn your back upon us.
We are sorry, for we went our own way and we did not think about you.
We are sorry, for we were thinking of our own wants and needs instead of what you want and need from us.
We are sorry.
Please do not hold sins against those who do not know.
Please protect those who are innocent, naïve and who trust us to be a guide for them.
Thank you, Lord Jesus.
Thank you for being understanding and for loving us when we do not deserve your love.
Thank you for carrying the very sins we committed to the cross.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
