A Prayer For An Open Heart

Precious Lord, most wonderful Savior, ever-filling Holy Spirit, please give us an open heart. Yes, Lord, we know that when we open our heart that pain can come in, but we are courageous. When we are tempted to turn away or discount the needs before us, let those needs touch our heart. When we are besieged with the hurt of the world and we do not want to look, give us strength to see how much of your love the world needs from us. When our heart breaks from the terrible darkness that invades our lives, give us your love and wisdom so we can be strong. Precious Jesus, please come back. We need you here on Earth, walking among us as you were so long ago. We have problems we cannot solve. We have hatreds that have run amok. We have devout saints of the faith who are being attacked from every direction by the darkness. We see our world slipping into a darkness we are helpless to stop except by praying to you. Please hear our prayers for we are not very powerful right now. We come to you in humility and love and make these requests in faith that your divine love will act upon them. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who is always by our side. Amen
