Lord, I know this is a really weird thing to ask, but in your wisdom and in your grace, help me see evil.
No, I don't want to see evil because I like evil or because I want to be tempted by evil.
I want to see evil so I can know how to defend myself.
I want to know the adversary so I can prepare myself in holiness and in righteousness to fend off an attack by evil.
Evil sometimes blindsides me.
Evil comes at me in ways I do not understand.
So in your love, let me see how my pain is from evil.
In your love, let me see how my temptations are from evil.
In your love, let me see how suffering of all kinds is from evil.
When I see how evil works, then I can respond with love, praise, forgiveness, giving, and compassion.
In your name and by your sacrifice for me on the cross, I declare victory now and forever in your precious name.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
