A Prayer Of Thanksgiving For The Treasure Of The Past

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Thank you Lord for the times of my past.
Thank you for the good times and the times that were not so good.
Thank you for the days of darkness that gave me wisdom.
Thank you for the days of testing that gave me strength.
Thank you for the days of sorrow that opened my heart to you.
Thank you for the days of worry and doubt that gave me confidence and faith.
I did not want these days of trial.
I did not want the days of darkness, testing, sorrow, worry, and doubt.
But because you love me, and because I opened my heart up to you, and because I am able to love you back, you have in some miraculous way, enabled me to use these days as times of growth and maturity.
I do not want to go back and live these days over again.
I do not want to go through these days in the future.
But I know in your love you will help me again as you have helped me in the past if these days come again.
In you, and because of you, these days have been a treasure from which I can now draw upon.
I do not know how you have turned what was bad and is still bad into a treasure.
I do not know how you have turned pain and hurt into a treasure.
I do not know how you have turned my scars into emblems of your love.
However, I do know that somehow you have turned and you have helped me turn the terrible days of my past into a time of the present where I can glorify you and glorify your kingdom.
Thank you Lord Jesus.
Thank you Holy Spirit.
Thank you Father in heaven.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
