A Prayer About Trusting In The Past

Most Precious Lord Jesus…
Gentle And Wonderful God…
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit…
I tend to look back too much.
I look back at the way things were but I do not look at what I could have and should have learned.
In your love and grace, help me dig into the past and seek out the gems of your wisdom.
In your love and grace, even when I look at the worst hours of my life, help me see you were there all the time.
Whenever I look back, help me see the blessings you poured out on me, the blessings that continue to this very hour.
Whenever I look back, help me learn from the blessing you were giving me then, even if I was not aware.
I am sorry I went my own way.
I am sorry I sinned and fell short of your mark.
If I could, I would erase all my sin, but I know in your love my sin is washed away in your grace and you do not see my sin because I repented and accepted you.
As your humble child, let the lessons of my past teach me to be more loving and kind.
As your humble child, let the lessons of my past teach me to be more compassionate toward others.
As your humble child, let the lessons of my past teach me to always seek your wisdom first and foremost.
As your humble child, let the lessons of my past teach me over and over the sweet old lesson about how you died to set me free.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen
