A Prayer For An Upward Mind
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
I love you, Lord Jesus.
My thoughts are too often upon the world, and upon my daily cares of life.
My thoughts are too often upon the mundane, the meaningless, and the
trite.
According to your will, turn my mind upward toward you and turn my mind
upward toward your great wisdom and your great truth.
When my mind spends too long thinking about the darkness of the world,
turn my mind upward so I can see your light beaming down upon me from
above.
When my mind spends too long thinking about my life and my trouble, turn
my mind upward so I can see your mighty power pouring down over me.
When my mind spends too long thinking about my daily cares, turn my mind
upward so I can see how your will can be used to turn every minute of my
life into a minute showing your love, your grace, and your glory.
When my thoughts are upon the mundane, turn my thoughts to your majesty.
When my thoughts are upon the meaningless, turn my thoughts to your
meaning and purpose for my life.
When my thoughts are upon the sordid mess of the world, turn my thoughts
to your glory and grandeur of heaven.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
