Prayer About Why We Deny Ourselves For Christ

Precious Lord Jesus, Wonderful Holy Spirit, Awesome God,
When our hearts ache for souls lost in sin and deprivation, we deny ourselves and pray more intently and more often on their behalf…and we see your beauty reflected upon the great oceans of your earth.
When our minds are full of hurt from our prayer burdens, we deny ourselves and pray more intently and more often on their behalf…and we see your magnificence beaming from snow-capped mountains.
When our souls yearn to see you manifest your power and come back to us, we deny ourselves and pray more intently and more often…because your power shows itself in the power of the wind and the waves.
When dark clouds of evil threaten us, we deny ourselves and pray more intently and more often because your love shines brightly from the horror of Christ's cross.
When our hearts boil in anger over attacks against us, we deny ourselves and pray more intently and more often because you are patient with us and you call us to forgive.
We love you Lord Jesus.
We praise your name.
You love us when we do not deserve it.
You stand by us when we abandon you.
You follow us when we want to run away from you.
You love us when we want to hide from you because of our sin.
Even when we may not see you until death, we are truly awed by your love.
In every darkness, may our hearts melt down and may our hearts be poured into the shape of your nail-scarred hands.
In every darkness, infuse our minds with only thoughts of your beauty, magnificence, and love.
In every darkness, renew our hearts each day as we seek courage to walk your walk of pain and sacrifice.
We humbly speak these words,
In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who abides within.
Amen
