About a defense against the adversary…
James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my
brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the
testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work
so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (NIV)
Every day the darkness
lurks about you, seeking to tempt you and destroy your heart for Christ. Your
adversary wants you to turn away and be consumed by anger, hatred, jealousy,
greed, ego, and many of the other vile sins. However, you need not be a helpless
baby. You have a mighty God who is full of love and light. You have a mighty
Holy Spirit to help you defeat every foe. God's love and light are the best
defense against Satan's painful arrows. God's love and light are also the best
offense to score points against the power of darkness wanting to take you down.
In Christ, you have a person who insists upon your being a victorious warrior
for Him. In Christ, you have a best friend who listens to your every prayer. In
Christ, you have a best friend who desires your honesty and who will listen to
your every confession. In Christ, you have a person who understands your every
trial.
