Previous Daily Devotional About a welcome heart Galatians 4:13 As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you. 14 Even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself. (NIV) When you welcome people into your heart and life, leaving no one out in the cold, you also bring out the Lord's angels. When you welcome someone just as you would welcome Christ, you bring out His love in your life and in the life of the person you welcome. Most of us can do a better job of opening our hearts and lives to others. We must remember we are the instrument God can use to touch others. When we show others how much we love them, then others see God alive in us. If no one showed love, love would not be seen, known, or recognized. People who loved one another helped build upon the foundation Christ brought to the world. The growth of the church in today's fallen world depends upon how much people inside the church love one another and upon how much of that love is shared with those outside the church walls. We are the avenue Christ use's to bring the blessings of God to others. When others fall ill, we must be ready to help them. When others need to see God, we must be ready to show His love. The lost persons in your life need you to help them find Christ and His love. The sick and the ill persons in your life need the healing touch of Christ that you can bring to them. The suffering and hurting persons in your life need the soft and tender care of Christ that you can deliver. For those people whose hearts are hurting and broken, your smile can mend their heart and ease their pain. |
