Previous Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Part Of A Special Continuing Series Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About abandoning your routine because you are overly upset about somebody or something… Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (NIV) We
not only gain nothing by being "overly upset", we also lose bits and
pieces of our life by improperly reacting to people and circumstances. In
becoming so overly upset we abandon the routine parts of our life we end up
losing parts of our life. We also lose contact with God. It is vital all of us
know we can choose how to respond to circumstances in our life. Becoming more
self-controlled in all matters requires training and work on our part. Getting
overly upset about all manner of things can run in families because we learn how
to respond to our world from the adults in our life during our formative years.
In order for God's power and influence to be dominant in your life, God's will
for you is that you be self-controlled. When you start to get upset over any
matter, turn to Christ. Ask Him if getting upset and abandoning your routine is
truly His will for you. Remember, every time you come to Christ when you are in
turmoil, Christ will tell you to live in peace, for He is the prince of peace. Prayer Page For Monday
