About asking

"And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given you;" Luke 11:9 (RSV)

The words of Jesus are both easy and difficult to do at the same time. It is easy to let what we want and what we think we need roll off our tongues. We can ramble on for hours in word or thought about our plight or lot in life and how we want God to fix things for us. Asking is easy. It is, however, difficult to go to Jesus hanging on the Cross of Calvary with our petty problems. When we are on our knees at the foot of the Cross with Jesus' suffering and dying in front of us we ask for little, we want little, and we need little. It is at that moment, when we are in front of His suffering, that what we ask for in our heart is delivered to us.
