Previous Daily Devotional About accepting yourself in love and truth… 1 Corinthians 12:4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. (NIV) We
do not do a good job of accepting ourselves. We find fault with who we are. We
find fault with how we are. We pick away at ourselves because of our mistakes,
our failings, and even consider our best traits and gifts to be liabilities
rather than assets. We want what God does not want us to have even when wanting
what God does not wants to have will hurt us. We do not like ourselves. We do
not like how we look, or how we feel, or our station in life. However, God
accepts you. If God accepts you, why not accept yourself? If God can love you in
spite of who you think you are, why don't you
love yourself in spite of who you think you are? Self-love, when we know the
whole and complete truth about ourselves, can glorify God in the highest. Every
hour you are surrounded by lessons of love. To learn more of the lessons God
sends you, accept yourself in God's love and truth. Most of all, relax, forget
about what you do not like about yourself or your life, and think about what God
likes about yourself and your life.
