17:5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice
from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well
pleased. Listen to him!" (NIV) If
you want to hear God, listen to the silence. Listen to the roaring silence full
of God's power, grace, and love. If
you want to hear God, listen to His love...His overpowering, totally consuming
love within your heart as He heals you, restores you, and makes you into His new
child. If
you want to hear God, listen to His forgiveness…His cleaning, His erasing, His
removing of every spot and blemish forgiveness. If
you want to hear God, listen to His grace…His unspeakably profound,
all-encompassing grace that transforms you into being like Christ. If
you want to hear God, listen to His purity…so divine, so clean, so beyond the
world…with no motive of God except to make you His newly created child. If you want to hear God, it isn't your hearing or your listening…it is your willingness to be His child. When you are willing to be His child, He speaks and in His glory you can hear Him.
