Previous Daily Devotional About actually seeing Christ… Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (NIV) When we speak of spiritual blindness and spiritual sight we are most often talking about seeing Christ. Christ is with us all the time. From our birth to our death, He has been and will be with us all the time. Yet too often we do not spiritually see Him. We do not spiritually perceive Him walking and talking with us. It is possible Christ could invade your consciousness so you could spiritually see Him, but it is not likely God would invade your life. Most of the time, Christ waits for you to come to Him rather than Him invading. If you want to fully spiritually see Him you must love Him. To physically see a picture of Christ dying on the cross is not spiritual sight. To mentally see why Christ died on the cross in intellectual terms is not spiritual sight either. To fully know in your heart Christ died on the cross just for you, to fully know in your heart you were hopeless and lost in sin, to fully know in your heart Christ died to save you, really is spiritual sight. To actually see Christ in your heart and spirit requires you surrender all of your life over to Him without any expectation of getting anything in return. To actually see Christ we never expect anything in return from Christ because we know we have already been given the most precious gift of all…eternal life.
