Talking to God is one thing, praying to God can be another. Of course, we consider talking and praying to God to be the same, but with the right heart, actually talking to God can be more honest, more real, and more comforting. When you actually talk to God, you do not just send up a list of concerns or people to Him. Actually talking to God is not a rote or routine thing. Actually talking to God is not a matter of form but always a matter of substance. Actually talking to God is always a matter of pouring out your heart. Although God knows what you need and knows all about you, talking to God is a way of showing Him you love Him and trust Him. When you talk to God, hold nothing back. Tell Him all about your fear, anxiety, pain, loneliness, doubt, uncertainty, anger, lust, and love. Open up all you are to Him. With God, you don't need to pretend. With God, you don't need to try and be someone you are not. With God, you can be and should be totally open and honest. No matter what you say, He will listen, He will understand, and He will give you power to move forward each day. With God, you always have someone who will always listen, no matter what. You are not talking to the wall when you talk to God…you are talking to a real, live, understanding, and caring person. Always know with the deepest love, God listens. In ways neither you nor any other person may be able to understand, God does more than listen, He acts. You may never see what God does or how He does it. You may live for the rest of your life and never know what God does as a result of your faith in Him. However, in God you can believe, in God you can hope, in God you can trust, and in God you can find comfort in the storms of life.
