Previous Daily Devotional About the beauty of your soul… Mark 10:14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." (NIV) You soul is the most beautiful creation in the universe. We must also say, yes, your soul is corrupted. Yes, your soul is soiled, dirty, and covered with blemishes. However, underneath the layer of dirt covering your soul is a diamond. Your soul is a sparkling diamond reflecting the light of God in infinite directions in arrays of infinite colors. If you could see the beauty of your soul the way God sees your soul, you would be dazzled. Because God made your soul with so much beauty, you must turn away from the dirt covering your soul. The dirt covering your soul is called sin, and your sin can be washed away by Christ's blood. For your soul to shine out the light of Christ, you must be willing to surrender your soul, dirt and all, to Christ so His light can shine through you to others. Of course, your soul is not really a physical diamond. Your soul is not a thing. Your soul is a child of God, beautifully made by God. Because you are such a beautiful person, Christ died for you on the cross. Christ gave His life to save you because He knows how beautiful you are beneath the layer of your soul's sinful dirt and blemishes.
