Previous Daily Devotional About becoming what God wants you to become… John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— (NIV) We have rights. However, just because we have a right does not mean we exercise that right. Just because we have rights, does not mean we grow enough to fully use the rights we are given. In the American culture, every person, including a child, has the right to speak. However, a child of two years old may not truly exercise the right of freedom of speech because the child is too immature in mental and physical ways. In the same way, when we fully accept Christ into our life, we have the right to become a child of God. Whether we actually DO BECOME a child of God depends upon whether we are willing to follow the laws, wisdom, and will of our Father in Heaven. Every day we have the marvelous opportunity to grow and become more and more like Christ. Every day we have the enormous opportunity to become one of our Father's children. No matter how old we get, we will be forever young and forever a child in the eyes of God. In the eyes of God, He tenderly watches and waits for us to finally come home to be with Him and live with Him. |
