Previous Daily Devotional About being a witness to a little child Matthew 19:13 Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (NIV) As much as you are able, take a child into your heart. In Christ's name and with His love, put your arms around this small person and help heal the hurts both past and future. Pray to Christ that He will protect this child forever and ever. In Christ's name, and in His love and mercy, give this child a shield that will keep away the darkness and evil. Do everything in your power to keep away the evil that wants to hurt and maim. Show this child, by the expression of your love, the tangible kindness and the full measure of Christ's power. Through your own heart, let His beaming radiance give this child a future grounded on the hope and promise that flows from Christ to the innermost part of the heart. As the child grows, give this child a full knowledge of Christ's sacrifice upon the Cross. When this child feels the hurt that comes from others, show this little heart how resounding forgiveness of others brings eternal healing. When there is spiritual hunger in this child, fill that spiritual hunger with the manna of God's love. When there is spiritual thirst in this child, quench that spiritual thirst with Christ's Living Water. In this child's life, when there is sadness, pour out your joy, the joy given to you from Christ. When there is loneliness within this child, give your presence and pour out the presence of Christ Jesus. |
