About being eager to do good…

1 Peter 3:13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? (NIV)

In a world seeming to go crazy in selfishness, we can forget to exert ourselves to do good for others. As a child of God, we must be eager to do good for others and follow our eagerness up with action. We must burn with Christ's love to do good for others.

If you do good for others and suffer for it, you are still blessed because you are being righteous in God's eyes.

If you are persecuted for doing good for others, take courage, for you are doing God's will.

If you must pay a price for doing good for others, do not be concerned about you, but instead be concerned only about doing His will.

If anyone asks you why you are eager to do good for others, do not boast and do not be ego-laden. Instead, be gentle and show respect for the other person. Give an answer full of hope and love so others will also want to do good.
