Previous Daily Devotional About being of one mind… 2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. (NIV) Have you ever caught yourself going in two directions at once? Have you ever been between a rock and a hard place trying to decide which way to turn? We have all been there and done that. Being of one mind means your mind is not divided. Being of one mind means you have firmly set your mind to doing or being a certain kind of person. When you make up your mind, MAKE UP your mind. When you make a decision, stick to it. When you make up your mind to follow Christ then actually follow Him. When you make up your mind to be kinder, gentler, and more compassionate, then actually be kinder, gentler, and more compassionate with others. When you make up your mind to change your behavior, then change your behavior. Of course, there is a cost involved in being of one mind. The cost involved in being of one mind or resolute is you will be required to sacrifice. The cost of being of one mind or resolute is you must put aside your personal wants and needs to focus only upon what you have decided to do or be. However, when you have truly and fully decided to be of one mind or resolute and follow Christ in all things and in all ways, you receive His uncountable blessings. |
