About
being saved in our spirit…
Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence
death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the
gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (NIV)
All
of us are headed for a cliff and sooner or later we will, each and every one of
us, fall off of this cliff with no net to physically save us. How much better it
is to be saved in our spirit! How much better it is to have everlasting life in
our spirit! We are all going to physically die. Some of us know we are going to
physically die and some of us live in denial of our physical death. Although we
can try to run away and escape our physical reality, inwardly, deep down inside,
we all know the truth we will someday stand before God the day we die. We all
know in the end there will be a physical end. However, we need not have an end.
Instead, when we accept Christ we have, instead of an end, a new beginning in
glory.
Although
we may grieve for those who have passed on ahead of us, is our grief
well-founded? The answer is no. Our grief for those we have lost is a selfish
reaction. What person would not glory to see a friend or loved one win a great
prize? In Christ and because of Him, His gift of everlasting life is the
greatest prize anyone could ever win.
