A Daily Devotional

About blessings from God…

Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (NIV)

When we go through the tough times of life we may want and need the blessings of God. We can often face such incredible challenges in our life we may even begin to think there are no blessings and perhaps we might think there is no God. When the tough times come in our life, we have a choice to believe in God or believe in nothing. Ironically, our comfort and consolation during the toughest times of our life come to us by an unseen God who requires we move over the tough times and see Him beyond where we are at the moment. God requires us to believe in Him when all of our logic and reason can tell us He is not real. To fully receive the blessings of God, God requires us to believe in Him when all of our being is covered over with doubt, suspicion, and disbelief. When we climb up to the top of our mountain of tough times, to the top of our mountain of doubt, to the top of our mountain of suspicion, and to the top of our mountain of disbelief, then we can see God from the mountaintop. As we stand on the top of our mountain we can see God pouring His blessings of love and compassion over us…and then we believe in the face of the unbelievable.
