A Daily Devotional About building a life… 1 Corinthians 3:10 By the grace God has
given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building
on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 11 For no one can lay any
foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If any man
builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,
13 his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to
light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each
man's work. 14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15 If
it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one
escaping through the flames. (NIV) When we build our life using the blueprint of Christ's call for sacrifice and humility, no earthly power can destroy what we build in Christ's name. The daily decisions we make resound throughout our life. When we decide to forgive rather than trying to get even, we clean out the darkness from our building site. When we choose to love in spite of many sorrows, we put in place unshakable structural beams to hold up our life for all eternity. If your heart is willing and surrendered to Christ's will, the trials and adversities of each day serve as the mortar between the bricks. Your humility in Christ serves as the trowel. When you build a life resting on the foundation of Christ, you receive a shelter from the storms of life. Your pain and suffering serve as the muscle. In all manners, in all ways, build your life upon the solid rock…the solid rock of Christ Jesus. |
