Previous Daily Devotional About building for God Ezra 1:3 Anyone of his people among you--may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem. (NIV) You have many opportunities each day to build for God. Each day there are innumerable opportunities to do His work. The greatest work you can do for God is to be His humble child. In being His humble child, you will see and respond to the needs of those around you. His church shall rise and fall in the world based not upon how much you get out of the church for yourself, but upon how much you put into the church for others. The unmet spiritual needs of people are the needs of Christ. He yearns to feed His sheep through you, and through your life. The more of Christ you keep in your heart, the more of His work you will be able to do with your hands. If you truly love Christ and are self-controlled and self-disciplined, you have no excuse for any lack of effort in doing His work. The world may try to push you against the wall and you may start to lose your focus on Christ. However, if you are willing to sacrifice and suffer for Christ, His power will always be with you. The more you dedicate your life to bringing His love to others, the more of His love you possess. When the darkness of Satan begins to tear at the walls of His church and Christ's kingdom on earth, the love of Christ in your heart keeps the walls standing. What evil seeks to destroy on earth, you can, by your will, keep safe by keeping Christ's love within you. When the servants of Christ are attacked, your prayers and your love for them will keep them strong. When the servants of Christ fall, your prayers and your love for them helps them be restored through Christ. |
