Previous Daily Devotional About building in faith . Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. (NIV) God has given each of us a great personal mission in life. We do not always know the exact details of this mission but if we pray and seek His will, our mission's specifics are eventually revealed to us...often in retrospect. The whole of the New Testament speaks about this mission for our lives. The whole of the New Testament calls us to be a kind of person a person of love, grace, compassion, courage, and humility. We are called to be all these things based upon our faith in our unseen Christ. We are called to build our life, hour by hour, day by day, based upon godly fear, reverence, respect, and a willingness to do God's will rather than our own. As we pray each day, God will direct us, sometimes push us, in the direction we should go to fulfill His mission. When you lack strength, God provides. When you are attacked by the evil one, God will give you power to persevere. It is your decision each hour to build your life for Christ or let the evil one slither into your life and subsequently let your life melt down into sin. Your mission is achieved not when earthly secular goals are reached. Your mission is achieved when you maintain your faith in Christ in spite of many struggles, hardships, and trials. When you come to Christ each day, pray that He will give you the ability to stay His course. When darkness attacks and you are numb with pain, call upon Him and He will be with you. When you experience defeat, open your heart and God's unseen love fills the emptiness and drives out the darkness. When you commit all your thoughts, feelings, and actions to doing God's will, He will not fail you. His power will be in every moment. His love will give you renewed heart and mind. When you wish to quit fighting the good fight, God will instill His holy fear in you so you will finish the race. When you seek to be one with Christ, God will shake your ego and when you are willing, He will push what you want aside. When you use each moment to build for Christ, the times of poverty become times of refreshing as you learn to treasure the outpouring wealth of His love and grandeur. |
