Previous Daily Devotional About
the burden of physical pain… Rev. 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." When we suffer physical pain, we need help. When we suffer physical pain, we need support. When our body hurts, we need someone to listen. Physical pain is a deep valley from which we may not see any way out. Physical pain is a darkness tearing at us and making us desperate for relief. Where is God in all this? Where is God when the pain gets unbearable? Where is God when the physical pain goes on for days, weeks, or months? These are legitimate questions. These are questions we ask because our faith is being tested, perhaps tested to the limit. God is here. God is right here in the middle of your pain. God is present and He is in the middle of every physical twinge. God is present and He is in the middle of every physical spasm. God is present and He is in the middle of every moment of desperation. In God you can hope for relief and in God there will be relief. In your time of meditation, relax as much as you can and push your mind past the pain into the waiting arms of Christ. Then, sometime in the future, as you keep your hope alive and well, God will wipe away every tear from your eye. In your pain, keep believing. In your pain, keep trusting. It may not seem like it now, but every moment you keep your hope alive and you keep your faith alive, you win out over the demon darkness trying to get you to give up and give in because of your physical pain. You know the truth about this demon darkness of your physical pain. Act like you know the truth by giving your pain to Jesus as you keep your hope alive.
