Previous Daily Devotional About casting off sin to win… Malachi 4:3 Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things," says the Lord Almighty. (NIV) On the most personal level possible, even when everything in life has gone against you, the issue of your sin remains the most important issue in your life. Even when you have never received the advantages others have received, even when you have had a terrible childhood, even when you have been a victim, even when you have suffered the worst of the worst through no fault of your own, your sinfulness remains the most important issue of your life. Here is the reason casting off your sin is so important; sin and adversity, even adversity not of your own making, try to tear out your soul. When bad things have happened to you in the past and when bad things happen to you in the future, you will need every possible resource at your command to deal with bad things in your life. To deal with adversity of the past, present, and future you need to be free. You need to be free in your spirit to sail over the trials and troubles of life. You need to be free in your spirit so you can cast off the darkness of the past, the present, and the future. When you do not come to grips with your sin, you remain in chains and in bondage. When bad things happen, being in the chains and bondage of sin prevents you from conquering, healing, restoring, and becoming a winner in life. To cast off the plague of your sin, repent, accept Christ, and trample down the darkness to win.
