Previous Daily Devotional About changing our lives… Proverbs 19:3 A man's own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the Lord. (NIV) Foolish mistakes ruin lives. Some people persist in making foolish mistakes, then they tell themselves they will do better, and never make any effort to change themselves or change the part of themselves that made the mistakes. We cannot change our lives without God. We cannot undo our mistakes without God. We can put on a new act or put on a new face and then try to persuade others we are real. The truth is we are only acting, we have not really changed, and we are fake. The core problem remains no matter how we act. Some personal problems are the result of an inner rage against the Lord. God is love. When we rage against the love that is God and fail to be wise then we end up being foolish. Common sense should tell us to have the love of God within us all the time. The love of God can guide us away from making the same mistakes over and over. This love gives us wisdom to see the truth and avoid foolish mistakes. |
