Previous Daily Devotional About Giving With A Cheerful Heart... Every man according as he purposeth in his heart so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7 "As he purposeth" means "as he decides". What you decide in your heart to give should be given with cheer. You don't have to bubble and gush but there should be in you a quiet knowing and joy. God showers mountains of blessings upon you as you listen to Him. Listen to God in your heart and respond to His voice by giving and sharing what you have. Everyone has something to give and share. Even the poorest person has mountains of God's riches to disperse in the world. Often it is out of the poverty of our lives that God blesses first others then ourselves when we give. Sharing from the heart and following God's voice brings mountainous rewards from Him. The Lord speaks to us in this verse and tells us not to give grudgingly or because we feel we have to give. Different people are called to share different things in different ways. When you find your way to give and find what God has called you to give, and then you follow through, then big and wonderful blessings pour out upon your life. The richest blesing you can give and then receive is God himself. As you give be sure to give in secret. Give anonymously. As you give today, let God touch you and surround you with His love, peace, and grace. You will be renewed, inspired, and humbled in His name. |
