Previous Daily Devotional About Christ looking out for us… Luke 22:35 Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?" "Nothing," they answered. (NIV) We all have our needs. We all have our human instincts. We all have the seven deadly instincts that can drive us into hell. And when we go somewhere or do something in our day to day life, if we are honest, we often go because of what we want, not because of what God wants for us or from us. We go where we want to go and do what we want to do because of our selfish egos and our selfish thoughts. There is an axiom, an unwritten law, a working truth that works in our lives. Here is the law. When we do for God because God wants us to do something for Him, He provides the way and the means. This does not mean we are to act stupid and walk around on a mission for God with our hand out waiting for God to pour blessings on us. For in our walk for God, we are to be resourceful and we are to be as wile as serpents. In our walk for God, we are to use His unfathomable wisdom to help us get through the day. Here is the point. When God sends us someplace, and we go there only because God sends us, then His blessings flow out of our decision to follow Him. Doing God’s will in spite of all hardships, trials, temptations, and obstacles as big as mountains, is sometimes hard to do. However, after we have done His will in all the ways He wants His will done, after we have renounced our own will, we will say we lack for nothing and mighty blessings will flow from within our lives. |
