About God with us Matthew 1:23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us." (NIV) We sometimes live our lives as if God was somewhere else. We sometimes live as if God was in some faraway place a place that does not connect to us or to the earth. The Christmas story brings home to us the truth that God is not far away. We see that God chose to bring His Son into the world to be with us. God sent Jesus into the world as a person, as a live human being both God and man, to show us that God is with us night and day for our whole lives if we will let Him into our hearts. In truth, He lives within us for that is where His kingdom is. We do not understand all these mysteries but we can understand that God sent us a tiny baby, born in a manger, to show us that God loves us. God wants all of us to hold onto the truth that God is with us in all ways and in all times. Wherever life's walk may take us, we have a Savior, Friend, and Comforter who walks with us. In Christ, we are never alone. |
