Christmas Daily Devotional About humble worship Matthew 2:10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. The Christmas story from the Bible shows us a human response to Christ coming into the world. In this verse, we see the Magi in humble adoration. The Magi were essentially the elite of their day. They represented wealth and wisdom. Yet, in this part of the story, we see the Magi in humble adoration of Jesus. As we celebrate this season, all of us should yield up our lives to Christ and bow down to Him in the same humble adoration we see from the Magi. Before we give our gifts on Christmas, we should let our spirits bow down before Christ. Before the wrapping paper is taken off the many things from under the tree, our spirits should be in worship before our Savior. We configure many things we call worship. There are many services in churches, cathedrals, homes, shacks, huts, and buildings all over the world. As grand or humble as the trappings of the services might be, true worship takes place when we see this Child born in a manger. True worship happens when we bring our gifts to Him. True worship happens when we love Him while giving Him our all. |
