About a life of Christmas love…

1 John 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. (NIV)

The love we experience at Christmas can be part of us all year round. Christ brought His special love to us so we would be immersed in His love and then give His love to others. We are to give Christ's love not just at Christmas time but every day of the year. When Christmas season is over, we tend to forget about the love we experience and share at Christmas.

The love of Christ is not meant to be influenced by how things are going on the outside of your life. The love of Christ is meant to influence how things are going on the inside of your life, all the time. Christ wants all people to understand He has given all of us the power to determine our inner life…an inner life we can shape in His image. When we make our inner life, His inner life, we make our life full of Christmas love no matter what time of year it is. When you reach down and pick up the Christ-child and hold Him close to you, His love flowing down from the Father surrounds and enfolds you. When you are in His presence, your life is full of His love we experience when we celebrate His birth.
