Previous Christmas Daily Devotional About a season to know God… Psalm 119:115 Yet you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true. (NIV) We all have a problem with God. Our problem with God is that He is invisible, inaudible, and He lives apart from our physical senses, even though He lives in our physical world. Before Jesus was born, we only had a very fuzzy idea about who God was and what God was like. Since Jesus was born, we have been able to put a face on our ideas about God. In trying to find God, we need look no further than Jesus. At Christmastime, it is easier to know God because we can put a human being named Jesus in the place of our idea about God. Of course, we should always think about God in both human and divine ways because Jesus was both human and divine. Although Jesus is not with us in the same way He was with us when He walked the earth, we can still walk with Him and talk with Him. We can kneel down beside Him lying in His manger. When we think of Him, we should remember He did not change. Certainly Jesus grew up to be an adult. However, the essence of Him as He was lying in the manger, the love radiating from Him, the power of peace flowing from Him, the innocence, and all the other divine qualities we associate with Him, stayed with Him and will be with Him and with us forever.
