Christ's Christmas gift of spiritual immortality… Psalms
121:3 O Israel, put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore. (NIV) The greatest gift ever given to humanity was given to us by God. The greatest gift ever given to humanity was God’s gift of hope for eternal life through Christ. Of all the actions Christ took on earth, of all the ministry He did and all the wisdom He imparted, nothing has endured and inspired us more than His gift of hope for spiritual immortality. Almost no one wants to die. Almost everyone wants to keep alive or stay alive. However, real life in our reality is constructed in such a way that we do not have immortality in our physical body. However, Christ gave us something better than immortality in our body. Christ gave us a way to achieve spiritual immortality. Christ gave us a way to live forever. Through Christ’s gift of salvation we have a way to live forever without suffering all the aches, pains, and problems of our physical life. Because of what Christ gave to us on the cross and because He came back from death, we have gone from hope for immortality to a spiritual certainty we will live forever. What a gift He has given to us! What a gift we can give to others!
