Previous Daily Devotional About Christ's discipline in love… Hebrews 12:6-7 "…because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? (NIV) No one wants to be disciplined. We all want to be free to do whatever we want to do, whenever we want to do it. The Lord disciplines us for our own good. If we were mature enough to accept His discipline, we would receive His discipline with joy and thanksgiving. The hardships and afflictions of our life put upon us by Satan become incredibly easier to bear when we are self-disciplined and self-controlled in God's love and grace. One of the ways we can become self-controlled and self-disciplined under God's will is for God to administer the discipline. When God disciplines us, God is helping us find His power to endure hardships and afflictions. God does not hurt us. However, God can put roadblocks in our path when our path does not lead us in His direction. Our afflictions are a time to muster up the courage to do His will, in His time, in His power. To win out for Christ, we must have His discipline in us at all times. God gives us an opportunity to be disciplined by Him because He wants us to come back against every defeat and every obstacle…and win.
